Golden Financial reported that the CEO of Visa stated on Tuesday’s earnings conference call that the payment giant is “massively” entering the cryptocurrency field. He discussed Visa’s cryptocurrency ambitions, saying that the company “has excellent conditions for doing so.” Kelly again distinguished the different elements of the overall plan, citing the spending and purchase of cryptocurrencies, crypto-related APIs for financial institutions, and settlement through stablecoins and CBDC. Kelly said: “Our focus is on the five different opportunities seen in this space. What I want to say is that we are entering this space on a large scale, and I think it is very beneficial.” As previously reported, Visa is taking a multi-pronged strategy because it involves services related to Bitcoin, stablecoins, and central bank cryptocurrencies over a longer period of time.
