US AI startup Figure raises $70 million

According to a report by the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily on May 25, artificial intelligence start-up company Figure has announced that it has received a first round of external financing of US$70 million led by Parkway Venture Capital to create a general-purpose humanoid robot. The company said the funding will be used to accelerate the development and manufacturing of its first autonomous humanoid robot, which is expected to launch in the coming months. The company, which was only a year old, has an undisclosed valuation, but a person familiar with the matter said it was valued at more than $400 million.
