Pastel Network brings NFT security to Polkadot with Parity

Pastel Network recently announced a partnership with Parity Technologies. This partnership will allow Pastel Network to bring permanent storage and NFT security to Polkadot.

As the builder behind Substrate and Polkadot, Parity Technologies is a well-known name in the industry. This collaboration is a huge step forward for the entire NFT community, and it shows that Pastel’s modern framework is meeting the continuing need for verifiability, security, and reliability.

The partnership means Polkadot will have access to Parity’s Web3 protocol, which can be easily integrated across Layer 1 and Layer 2 dApps. Parity will work with Polkadot’s L1 parachain and DeFi and NFT applications built on the network.

This will allow the joint venture to integrate:-

  • Sense, Near-Duplicate NFT Detection: It uses deep learning techniques to assess the relative rarity of non-fungible tokens. It helps detect fraud, copyright infringement and forgery, providing proof of authenticity.
  • Cascade, NFT Data and Metadata Storage: It is a permanent distributed redundant storage protocol. It prevents centralized error points, 404 errors and IPFS pinning and monthly subscription maintenance.

Because these protocols are lightweight and interoperable with Web3 open APIs, Polkadot members can access them securely and distributed.

In the long run, these platforms will collaborate to create trustless and decentralized interoperability using communication bridges. Due to its non-parachain blockchain nature, Pastel Network can use Substrate instances for trustless communication with Polkadot.

Substrate instances can be deployed to the Polkadot network using nonprofit community operations or utility parachains. In the beginning, Pastel’s network of supernodes (high-computing validators) could act as a coalition of off-chain agents.

Interoperability at this scale enables Parity and Pastel to bring decentralized NFT security and persistence to the ecosystem. Given the platform’s global success, their collaboration will yield similar results.
