Deaton Predicts Ripple Case May Reach Supreme Court Before Congress Acts

SEC vs. Ripple is a well-known debate that has been going on for over two years. The SEC accused Ripple of marketing XRP as a security that burdened XRP’s long-term price growth potential.

It’s one of the most notable court proceedings in cryptocurrency history and an important development on regulatory concerns for the industry. A crucial summary decision in the Ripple v. SEC case looms as new developments could change the outcome.

The founder and lawyer of CryptoLaw recently stated in a tweet that Ripple may reach the U.S. Supreme Court before Congress.

Deaton says Ripple community must fight in court

The tweet was in response to a tweet from Fox reporter Eleanor Terrett in which she shared the SEC’s budget proposal. The proposal underscores the agency’s intention to strengthen cryptocurrency enforcement.

Deaton emphasized that clarity comes from the courts, not Congress or the SEC. “It’s not what it’s supposed to be, but it’s what it is and it will be. Hell, the Supreme Court can hear the Ripple case before Congress takes action. We’ve got to fight in the courts.”
